Disappointing
In April I bought the Lansky Deluxe kit and really liked it so I bought this one as well for serrated. The clamp is narrower, and does not hold the blade as well. The finish is poor compared to the Deluxe. When I opened the package I stuck my thumb on a metal shaving from a screw hole. While it is unlikely to use the 17 degree setting on a serrated blade it will not work with this clamp because the slotted screw is different than the deluxe and sits deeper in the clamp causing it to protrude far enough on the other side to block using the 17 degree slot. The finger tightened screw is to long and blocks the 17 degree on that side as well. As of this writing the "product features" states it comes with oil and it does not. The picture is accurate - no oil. Otherwise this kit does work to sharpen knives. If you already have a Lansky clamp don't waste your money on this kit, just buy the extra stones. If this kit had the better clamp and the oil it would be worth the price, but as it...
Knife like new
Before purchasing/using the serrated blade sharpening hones by Lansky I'd never given much thought to sharpening the serrated area of my knife blades. I used the serrated edge sporadically and never thought of it being dull.
After having sharpened the serrations I'm surprised at just how dull they really were and how much easier they are to use, having used the Lansky hones. I've always been pleased with Lansky's products, just as I am with my latest purchase.
