Save your money; Do NOT buy Crane products
My wife and I purchased the Crane baby humidifier (frog) to place in our newborn daughters room shortly after she was born in October of 2011. We used it through the winter of 2011-2012 with no issue, and did not operate it again until this past November/December 2012. Sometime in late January 2013, the unit began to make a strange, straining sound. It still produced cool mist vapor, but we were concerned about fire risk from a strained motor, so we turn it off and called the manufacturer. The Crane representative informed me that they offer a one-year full replacement warranty with receipt and proof of purchase. Since we were outside of the one-year window (even though we only operated the unit for about 7 or 8 months in cumulative time), we did not qualify for the full replacement warranty. When I asked what Crane COULD do for us, the representative presented an "OUT OF WARRANTY REPLACEMENT" offer, which is a $20 discount toward your next Crane humidifier purchased through...
