Kitchenaid Architect Series Blender



Not great...
Okay, I wouldn't tell someone not to buy it, but I would not recommend it either. I use mainly for smoothies and soups.

This blender always leaves lumps - pieces of banana or strawberries when I make a smoothy. If I use spinach leaves, it also fails to puree these very well - my very old blender would make a homogenous green liquid. Also doesn't do a great job pureeing soups.

I suspect the above might be due to the shape of the jar - previous one was tapered toward the botton which may have helped the blade draw the contents into it. This jar has vertical walls and a wide diameter.

This machine has a feature which I was not aware of until reading the manual - it doesn't work anyway. It claims the machine will start slowly before hitting the set speed. In fact, mine starts at full speed then slows and then gets back up to full speed - defeating the purpose of the gradual start.
