Goodbye microwave popcorn!
This is the real deal. It's small and will look great on any countertop/bar top. We used Orville Redenbacher popping oil along with their kernels and within 3 minutes, our house was filled with the wonderful scent of movie style popcorn. The steam hits the glass and scent is carried away throughout your house.
It only accepts 1/4 cup of kernels at a time, so it does take a few sessions to really fill up the box...if that is what you are looking for.
The only downside we've noticed is that a lot of kernels come flying out of the kettle. Not sure why but we lose a very good portion of them when we pop.
Sunbeam Popcorn Popper
This machine is terrible. I've made & sold popcorn at theaters & home every Sunday night. Received this for Xmas as a gift, popped three batches and pulled the plug. The door entry is too small to put in the oil, even if you can hold the lid up, very awkward, same goes for putting in the popcorn, and then there was unpopped corn all over, even after the third batch. After only one batch went into the tray, unless you were very careful when you opened the door, some always spilled out on the counter. and to top it off, cleanup is a mess, taking way too long. I have boxed it back up and am taking to Good Will, a waste of gift money and my time. Another "Made in China" fiasco.
8 cups? Not so much!
I was so disappointed in this product, not only am I returning it, but it has inspired me to write this review...my very first review ever on Amazon. I also contacted the company to voice my disappointment. We were very excited about this popcorn maker. I bought it for my popcorn loving husband for his birthday. Our excitement quickly turned to disappointment when we saw how little popcorn this machine actually makes! We tried numerous attempts, and our grand total was 4 cups. 4 cups! That is barely enough for two people to share! We were so shocked that we actually started laughing at the absurdity of it all. We re-read the instruction manual, thinking we MUST be missing something...but, sadly no. 4 little cups. It would be so tedious to have to continue to refill and make the popcorn over and over again just to fill a bowl large enough for a family to share. The popcorn tasted great, but we will go back to popping it on the stove for free, and get our money back from this...
